THE APPROACH

It’s time to evolve from green consumers into green citizens. By focusing on a small number of public policies, we can create enormous progress. The Big Fix provides a clear grassroots roadmap for every concerned citizen, business leader, and politician to understand and get involved.

How do we sustain the economic progress that has delivered billions from poverty while fighting the climate change challenge that threatens our only home? Many people are already trying to help in their own individual way by buying an electric car, recycling, eating less meet, or maybe contributing to an environmental group. These actions are important, but insufficient on their own.

It’s time to evolve from green consumers into green citizens. By focusing on a small number of public policies, we can create enormous progress – but that requires a coherent plan. The Big Fix provides a clear grassroots roadmap for every concerned citizen, business leader, and politician to understand and get involved.

The good news is that the changes we need to confront climate change have already begun, in pockets around the country. Solutions are already at hand, and more are coming thanks to new federal legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act. But we are not yet moving fast enough to adopt these climate solutions thanks to an ominous combination of inertia and political mischief that slows the pace of our clean energy transition.

If the solutions we have can be harnessed at scale by concerned citizens across our communities, our economies and our standard of living can both benefit as we transition to a clean energy future that helps ensure a stable climate future.
